Nanticoke Headwaters In December 2007, The Lyme Forest Fund, in partnership with Ecosystem Investment Partners, purchased a 1,206 acre property in southern Delaware from the Glatfelter Pulpwood Company. Consisting of two tracts (Daisey and James) in Sussex County, the property is one of the largest unprotected ownerships within the State’s Cypress Swamp Forest Legacy Area The property has been ditched and drained for silvicultural purposes but will be restored as wetland and managed as a wetland mitigation bank. Additional income will be generated from sustainable forestry operations, limited development and conservation sales. The project is being undertaken in partnership with The Conservation Fund (TCF) and the State of Delaware’s Forest Service.
