Marc Hiller

Marc joined Lyme in 2018 and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating new timberland and forest carbon investment opportunities and supporting strategic initiatives for Lyme’s existing investments. For twenty years, Marc has worked as a forester with private equity firms and small- and large-scale forest managers. From 2012-2017, Marc served as Director of Acquisitions for GreenWood Resources, Inc. He led GreenWood’s timberland acquisition activities, including sourcing and developing investment opportunities, leading financial analysis, and structuring and negotiating transactions. He previously worked on forestland acquisitions and management with International Forestry Investment Advisors and New Forests. Earlier in his career, Marc worked on forest management and certification issues with The Forest Trust, Rainforest Alliance and a community-based forest management project. Marc has worked and lived in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, and Australia. Marc currently serves as Treasurer of the Willamette Partnership, an NGO focused on environmental market development. He received an M.B.A. from Yale School of Management, a Master of Forestry from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a B.A. from Emory University.
