Affiliates of The Lyme Timber Company LP acquire approximately 677,000 acres of timberland in Michigan and Wisconsin

Affiliates of The Lyme Timber Company LP closed on approximately 677,000 acres of timberlands in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and northeast Wisconsin in three separate transactions in November and December. This diverse property is dominated by natural hardwood forests, mixed in with natural conifer forests as well as conifer plantations. Sugar maple is the predominant hardwood species on the property. With broad access to robust local markets, Lyme will continue to conduct timber operations on the property under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certification program. Lyme has recruited a forestry team with an average tenure of sixteen years on the property to its newly formed portfolio company, Lyme Great Lakes Forest Management, to manage the property out of offices in Escanaba and L’Anse, Michigan.
