Affiliates of The Lyme Timber Company LP acquire 193 acres in Fayette County, Alabama to develop as a stream mitigation bank

In January 2020, Lyme closed on the acquisition of a 193-acre property in Fayette County, Alabama to restore and establish as a stream mitigation bank servicing the Upper Black Warrior watershed, one of the most ecologically valuable and biologically diverse freshwater habitats in the US. The property was previously used for cattle grazing and recreation. Streams and adjacent riparian buffers have been severely degraded from the manipulation of channels to increase surrounding arable land for cattle grazing, with the associated damage to water quality from the presence of cows in the streams.
